Desktop Ampersands

The soft glow reflecting off the small metal ampersand and the barely-able-to-be-seen ghost of a French Curve pretty much sums up this part of my desk at work.

Hotel State College & Company

spotted in the hallway outside of the Allen Street Grill

As I looked around, I really enjoyed seeing that the other signage upstairs also uses ITC Benguiat as its basis; sometimes condensed, sometimes extended, but the same consistent family.

About this font family: “Perhaps the ultimate Art Nouveau typeface, designed for ITC three quarters of a century after its time by Ed Benguiat. The structure, and some of the features, are those of Kleukens, with the familiar ITC refinement, large x-height and close fit.”

The Tale of Flopsy Bunnnies

Grandma Howerter's Spelling Book

My mother passed along a book that was my maternal great-grandmother’s .
A great ampersand from the back cover.
